There are some things a father just shouldn't say to his children. It took me decades to overcome seven words he spoke to me. And to be honest, I've only half-undone it. Because I always worry that my father's curse will filter down to my kids, and their kids.  

Dad, I've got to say—you were a complete idiot here. I feel a lecture coming on, a long one…. Did you think about the consequences before you flapped your mouth?
