We used to have a Ouija board when I was a kid growing up in New Jersey, but I've never considered buying one now and trying to use it. Never considered going to a medium, though I've lived in places where they weren't hard to find.

What if I managed to contact him, only to learn that he hated me for poking around in his life like I do? What if all the rage I used to fear from him as I child spilled out on me the moment a line of communication opened?

No, I much prefer safer means of spiritual communication. Missives shot in one direction that he can't return. Messages in metaphorical bottles that say "Hey, I'm thinking of you," but don't actually expose me to words and emotions from the other side.
