NICE GUYS FINISH LAST

Tough guys don't dance. Tough guys don't wear pink. Tough guys don't write. Real men don't eat quiche. Big boys don't cry. What the adages all boil down to is: hide your vulnerability and self-doubt.

Which is bullshit, because it simply means that we end up living inside the shell of our psychic armor. It's the curse of machismo worldwide, throughout history.

I'm gonna get religious on y'all here. I'm gonna quote St. Francis de Sales: "Nothing is so strong as gentleness, nothing is so gentle as real strength." Forgetting this leads to a tragedy of masculinity that gets repeated every generation.

C'mon, men of the world. Step out of the macho cage and live this credo with me, or die trying.
